Check engine light

We recently purchased a 2016 Thor quantum with the ford V10 engine with 28000 miles and the code says emission with a laundry list of possible causes.
I don’t want to just start replacing parts hoping for the best.
Anyone had this problem and what was the fix?

What was the error code. Should tell you what part to check. . There are sensors that fail in emission, in the exhaust system piping. One before catalytic converter and one after on both sides. What error code did you get?

Was it on when you purchased it? That, in some states, is illegal to sell by a dealer. A Ford dealer will have a better scanner that will pinpoint specific issues closer than even the good ones we buy at the parts stores. They also have the ability to connect it online to factory techs. Emissions could be as small as an O2 sensor, bad gas or it could be bigger issues such as converter or combinations of stuff.

I think the code was P450. The light was not on when I bought it.

Double check gas cap, make sure it’s clean, and can provide a good tight fit.

I replaced the gas cap and reset the light. I drove home about 25 miles and so far the light has not come back on.

Untightened or worn-out gas cap is a common cause for an engine check light.

I have not had a chance to confirm it yet with my Ford gas engine manual but someone just told me you can continue driving with a check light on but you should pull off if it is blinking. Can anyone confirm that?

I've been a master technician for 57 years. I also own a 2020 Thor axis 25.6. P0450 has something to do with the pressure sensor. If you overfill your tank a lot it can ruin the pressure sensor. A gas cap leaking pressure or not tightened properly or pressure leak problem that someone mentioned is a code p0457.
