Fresh water tank capacity?
We have a 2020 Windsport 29M and everything I have read says the capacity is 50 gallons. We think it is less than 30. Could there be another tank?

They "might" be adding in full water lines and the water heater..
Our former coach (Infinity.. frilly big sister to the Windsport/Hurricane)
Listed 60 fresh and 30/30 black gray.. actual was about 50 fresh and 25 black/gray useable.

Yes, the 6 gallons (unusable) capacity of the hot water tank is sometimes added. Also look at the water pickup point. Often it is on the side a few inches from the bottom which makes that water unusable too. And then there is also flat &%$ lies.

What makes you think it is 30? Specs state 50 gal tank.

Fresh water tank capacity
Thank you for all the responses. Had not considered they would include the hotwater tank and the lines...WOWZA. Makes camping without hookups a bit difficult for any length of time.

There are a couple of youtube videos showing filters applied to gray water and it being recycled for the toilet and showers.
It would be pretty easy.
On our water collection tanks at home I have two big blue filters, 25 micron down to one micron(I can go point two micron, but I don't) and a large uv light.
Point two micron water is hospital grade pure.
Less than $300 and a half day of routing water lines and you'll have almost no worries of running out of water.

I had a trailer once that claimed 40 but had only about 20 usable. The fill was below the top and the pump connection above the bottom.
I learned to check out ”usable capacity”.

Tank capacity may not equal usable volume.

First,
If you are going by the tank sensors full is not always full. The tank sensor is never mounted at the tippy top of the tank. It is normally installed 2 or three inches below the top which could be as much as 10 additional gallons beyond full.
Next,
Get one of these meters and then empty the tank zero the meter and then fill the tank until it takes no more and the gauge will tell you how much capacity the tank has.

First I have and use the flow meter. They are very accurate. For a filter I now use the ClearSource Ultra Guard 1/2 micron filter. I was able to eliminate the UV filter on the new to me Thor Palazzo 33.2. It protects against viruses, bacteria, and cysts. It installed easily in the thin bay behind the water tank on the passenger side.

Definitely do not rely on the panel. First time I stayed at a State park w/o a water hookup, my panel showed freshwater 1/3 (50 gal tank). Freshwater fill station was 100 yds away. So I filled a 1 gallon jug, went back and forth 5 times (5 gals). Checked panel and it says full. I’m going to get a 19.99 flow meter to measure fill up. I’ve owned 6 RV camping units over past 35 years. This was the first time I used the fresh water tank ( yes, I flushed it out at home before filling). I already had previous experience knowing black and gray guages were little more than guesswork and not reliable. I did locate the pump and intake tube coming from the tank. It was 3 inches short of bottom of tank. So in a 50 gallon tank, that much water in the bottom is unusable unless you access through the drain.
