Front shock lower bolt snapped

2017 Thor Quantum RQ29 on Ford E450 chassis. Changed front to Bilstein shocks and while torqueing (lower nut) to 111 ft lbs (the spec I found) it snapped.

How do I repair?

You sure that wasn't 111 inch-lbs? Seems greatly excessive to me for a shock. Was that from a reliable source?

Seems like 50 to 70 ft=lbs would be in the right range.

Probably not something you cannot do yourself. You will need to find a shop that can remove the broken stud and press in a new one, assuming it is a replaceable part. The other possibility would be to replace the control arm. Again, something that might be doable with do-it-yourself mechanics tools. As for the torquing I suspect the correct number should be about 60fp.

The stud that you broke is only available as part of the Radius arm it is mounted in from Ford. You can replace just the broken stud with a bolt/stud kit from most any good auto parts store. Need to cut off remaining stud and drill out to 1/2” size for the new repair kit. It’s a job but not as big as replacing the whole new arm!!!!
