MyFix Whirlpool Fridge Door Shelf

Howdy,
Thank you to Islandsmith for posting this post
V V V V V V V V V
https://www.thorforums.com/forums/f8...oor-22232.html

His post made me finally get off my butt and do something about my fridge having the same issue.
Plus it gave me a reason to buy a new tool... Any reason to buy a new tool is a good reason

Attached are the pics of my repair
I literally just finished

We will be traveling from Southern Nevada to CoosBay Oregon this weekend
That should really but this shelf repair to the test

Enjoy, IrnBear

Not sure why the pics are sideways. Open pic and it will be upright, LOL

Total Success. I might do the same to the other two shelves just as preventative measure.
2000 miles and still as strong as I installed it. It had way more stuff on it including the wifes Half Gallon of Half & Half.

I hope this helps others in the present or future.

Thanks for posting your fix. You were lucky there was enough space on the mushroom side of the rivnut to allow for a hidden, workable solution. The $ you saved on the cost of a new fridge door panel (and a possible repeat of the same problem down the road), probably easily paid for the new rivnut tool. Great job.

Just bumping this forward to let everyone know this is still holding strong.
Many bumpy dirt roads and paved roads since the repair.

Oh, I love my rivnut tools.
If you love yours but they don't Apply to a particular situation, look into big head mushrooming rivets.
