never seen a microwave vented outside, and our propane stove isn't either... but you can use the microwave 'fan' to vent it above the microwave, and certainly turn on your roof fan for outside ventilation.... I'm not sure why you would question such a normal thing in most every motorhome with a microwave(?).... It's certainly not 'un safe' as there are no 'fumes' or 'gas' that you speak of, a microwave only heats food from the inside out.
