Jerry, I just started installing a RecPro recliner in my ACE 30.1. Found this fine bit of Thor craftsmanship where they “trimmed” the slide floor to clear the facia. Notice the “straight” cut and unfinished edge..and the 1” gap. Guess they figured the couch would cover it. I think the most precise wood working tool they have is a saws all.
So I’m going to be doing much the same thing you did. I’ve got to add a 2x2 to the face of the slide, which will then get faced with a hardwood strip. The notch will get hardwood too. Then I can bolt down the sections.
