We got a MasterTow with surge brakes. We got it for just under $1300 new and we like that it has a swivel pan and permanent ramps. Setup is simple (1 pin removed to lower the ramps, drive up, ramps tip back forward, secure with pin and cotter pin, straps on wheels, strap down steering wheel, make sure parking brake is off, test roll...) It stores under the rear of the motorhome in most locations. Can be moved by hand (although sometimes not easily enough!) We have towed two different FWD Jeeps with it. Surge brakes mean nothing to hook up to a brake controller. Don't really know it is behind us except we see it in the backup camera. Does well on long downhill grades too.
