I have RV's many years but being connected to a hose only goes back 7 years. I would check the water pressure to see if I needed the regulator to keep below 55 lbs pressure. I had wintered in this RV park 3 previous years without a regulator. The four year everything looked OK so no regulator. But when I got up in the middle of the night there seemed to be more water pressure so connected my drag hand pressure gauge. The water pressure seemed OK but the next I morning I saw 114 lbs pressure. The municipal water supplier had a regulator that did not close completely thus on on low water usage high pressure so now I always use a regulator even filling my fresh water tank.
