We upgraded to 4 new 12V AGM batteries, installed a 400 W Renogy Solar charging system, and an 3000W inverter/switch and charger unit (total cost approx. $2,200). The only way to run everything (except a/c) off the batteries in a Chateau is to add an inverter (solar is optional, but we boondock a lot, so we need it). We are also in Colorado, so if you want more information message me back and we can connect to tell you more.

I also have a 2018 Chateau (31E), and I'm interested in adding an inverter and maybe solar. We don't do a lot of boondocking, but we'd like to be able to use a TV and electrical outlets without starting the generator while driving or those occasional times when we are boondocking.
Can you give some more details on your inverter & solar installation? What specific parts are needed? Where is the inverter mounted? Does it automatically switch when you plug into shore power or run the generator? Since it's "pre-wired" for solar, what does that mean? Did you install it yourself or have a shop do it?
Thanks
