Here's another thought. The weight of the trailer is taken by the rubber shear springs and they are located on the swing arms between the axle spindle and arm pivot. Thus the swing arm shaft will be actually bearing down on the bearing when the wheel is loaded. Again though, taking the load off of the wheel when greasing will enable new grease to flow into the needed area. The grease nipple is also on the bottom of the bearing housing. so it should flow in more easily if the wheel is unloaded.
