PS to my post: The pictures are before lightly spraying with chain lube. If you zoom in on the picture of the idler end of the awning, you can see on the bearing ring some traces of rust showing. Personally I don't like how this awning is constructed, but it is what I have. One example, if the motor fails with awning retracted against the side of the coach, there is no easy way to access the awning cap screws (on top when deployed) to be able to access the motor etc.
