No recommendations for Savannah, but on our trip to Florida in January we stayed at the KOA in St. Mary's GA which is right across the border from Jacksonville, FL. We only stayed one night but it made our list of campgrounds to stop at again.
Our oldest daughter went to Savannah College of Art and Design so we spent a lot of time in Savannah when she was going to school. I traveled so much for work back then that we always stayed in hotels and never paid a penny. We haven't felt the need to go back.
