Smart TV

It's called a smart TV because it connects to WiFi and allows you to watch TV via the internet and streaming services (watching TV via WiFi/internet is called streaming). The antenna isn't part of the "smart" process. Some internet TV services require subscriptions. There are some free ones.
I use a Roku smart TV at home because Roku is preloaded with many of the services I like to access and it is sometimes easier to use than a plain smart TV.
I have Samsung smart TV's in the RV and they work great. I have to confess to having a Roku attachment for them to most easily access my favorite services.
So you can get digital TV thru cable and thru your antenna AND thru a WiFi internet connection with a smart TV. As a newbie to smart TV's it might be easier to get with the "program" with a Roku smart TV.
Good Luck
