I'm also on the Texas gulf coast and I have a dehumidifier that is used when parked in the driveway.

Before doing this, a musty smell would eventually show up after being parked for awhile. The dehumidifier will pull out a lot of water during more humid times, requiring the tank to be emptied every day or two. I have some ideas for setting it up to drain outside, but haven't started working that yet.
