We've taken our Axis to FL in December starting in Michigan. (Yeah we have heated tanks but I've yet to turn on the heaters.)

On our trip(s) South in the winter I simply dewinterize at the first overnight stop (usually a KOA). Up until then we'd use rest area bathrooms or gas station bathrooms. That usually isn't necessary because we've also started our trip south after work on Friday and only drove to Southern Ohio or Northern KY before stopping--far enough south that you should be ok. Even so with the furnace running the inside of the coach is nice and toasty. (Your fresh water tank is likely inside so it gets its warmth from the furnace. The waste tanks just dump some antifreeze in them until you get to warmer temps..no issue.)

Er so TL;DR you don't need them.
