Adding a remote hours meter for the generator
My coach has the ubiquitous Onan KY4000 generator. The hours meter is in the ceiling of the generator compartment (of all places!) and is quite awkward to read. I’d like to add a remote meter perhaps on the dashboard near the start switch. Has anyone done this? Have any recommendations on a unit that looks nice and can be set to match the actual hours to date? I presume I could relocate the existing meter by extending the wiring although it is a seriously industrial looking thing. It’s not a high priority project for me but it’s on my winter list. Thanks for any ideas.
