Do you have 30-Amp or 50-Amp service (I'm guessing 50-Amps).

If you have 30-Amp, you'd be limited to 30 Amps anyway. And if you have 50-Amp service, which I presume is the case, do you have a way to connect more than 30-Amps (total effective) without going to 240-Volts? I think you said you didn't need 240-Volts.

Looking at the Honda 7,000/5,500 generator, it has 240-Volt capability, but is limited to 30-Amp 120/240-Volt plug. It's only a guess on my part, but your loads would have to be split fairly even between the two legs/phases in order to get to the maximum generator capacity.

Others who have used 240-Volt generators may be able to share how it's worked out for them.
