I've been through most of the states mentioned here. I have to agree with comments regarding S. Dakoda. Very nice highways especially around Spearfish, Sturges part of the state.
However, the absolute worst roadways I've traveled are right here in CA (F-). They are the worst anywhere. The 5, 405, 15 - all of the main arteries are shit! Avoid this state at all costs!
