That's just what I wanted to do to mine. The shag carpeting that Thor used is just appalling. I think using some sound deadening material and some carpet padding under a nice thick pile carpeting would be quite an upgrade to the original install. It also beats trying to get up under the coach and go at it from there. Please post pictures of your install if you can.
