We have towed our Jeep with the original soft top for about 9000 miles without any issue.

And, having driven the Jeep on the interstate in Utah, where the speed limit is 80, I can say it's probably better off behind the RV. Since your asking, I'm assuming you have driven the Jeep on the interstate--it's not the most aerodynamic vehicle and is not especially quite on the interstate!
