You got a year more than most folks do.
9 months for me.
Walmart batteries have an excellent warranty and are highly rated in comparative tests. Buy their plus battery unless you want to go gel or lithium.
Yeh, I didn't know that when I bought mine at tram or some such place.

are you referring the the VEHICLE engine starting batteries, or the HOUSE batteries that power the 12v systems within the living areas?
CHASSIS/Vehicle batteries should CERTAINLY take you well into 5 or more years, depending on use - less than 2 is not a normal timeframe to be having issues. Ours have been going strong for over 5 years, and almost 6 years since they were originally installed at the factory.
HOUSE batteries will vary, but should also certainly and easily take you well into 4 plus years, depending much on the use, how often, how low you take them before charging, etc. Ours lasted five years before I replaced our 4 factory stock batteries - and they weren't even then 'needing' to be replaced, it just happened to be a good time, a good price, at a good place.
100,000 plus miles over 4-5years and LOT of off-grid overnights...

Chassis Batteries
Yes....the two GRP 31's that are for the engine. This may be self inflicted. I should probably make it a habit to turn off the batteries while in winter storage.

If not plugged in, then yes, turn off with the battery switch in the battery compartment. On our last MH, which is plugged in when we are not dry camping, I got 12 years out of the chassis battery.
On a semi-related note, I keep our boat on a battery tender at all times when not in use. I got 17 years out of the original battery. Almost unheard of.

"This may be self inflicted. I should probably make it a habit to turn off the batteries while in winter storage."......
maybe, but I've never used the 'cut off' for the Chassis batteries... even in storage thru the winter months. Never had any issue with it cranking, no problems - they have never even been on my radar for maintenance, cranking performance, replacement....nothing.
while the HOUSE batteries may have some parasitic draws even with the cut off applied, I don't know of any on the Chassis batteries - any different than any other vehicle while not in use.

A battery self-discharges, if allowed to go dead for a prolong period of time. I can kill it. I have a solar panel on the roof that provides battery charging. If you don't have a trickle charge system, I would use the battery disconnect switch.
Also on my old challenger, the disconnect switch didn't disconnect everything, I started removing the positive lead of both chassis and house batteries.
