Ace 2023 29g....Freshwater tank full

How did our freshwater tank fill and overflow when only connected to city water?

Either an open or defective fresh tank fill valve or a defective check valve.

Also the check valve in the water pump can be bad causing the tank to slowly fill when the RV is connected to city water.

If that happens, you need to rotate the fresh water fill / city fill valve around in order to make sure it is in the correct position of City Water. Sometimes the valve is not fully engaged to the City Water side and the valve allows water to bypass and go into the fresh water tank. The valve is a known issue on the Anderson Kank Leak Valve System and they used to sell a replacement valve for it. The valve has rubber seals that sometimes tear and the valve no longer seals. Make sure to only turn the valve before you turn on the City Water so not to create pressure in the system.

N/A to the OP's rig.

He has a leaking pump/integral check valve. Usually cleaning the pump strainer and then running the pump for a few minutes with one or two faucets open (for good flow) will flush the debris from the pump and cure the problem.

Water Miser left open

We had guests and noted that they left the water miser valve in shower open....would that cause water to flow to freshwater tank?

I do not have one but that is the understanding I have on how they work... but to be used when no 'city water' is available! Unless it was a slow trickle, odd you did not hear it.

It is a new one for the books. :-/

Aftermarket install? Cuz that ain't standard. Yes, that could cause the fill/overflow problem

Toilet unclogged

Was able to get toilet unclogged with 1 plunge...poured about 10 buckets of water down toilet and flushed out with black tank pull.

Seems okay now. Guess 6 people in the Ace for 4 days over taxed the system!

Yep! The return line on the Showermiser is returned to the tank so if they left it there on the return side, it will fill the tank with the city connection.

Turn off the city water supply, turn on the pump switch (w/water in the fresh tank), open a tap and follow the noise. And if no noise, not working.

When we have first time guests, they get a quickie tutorial on things not to do. I explain that things work a little differently in an rv.

Fresh water tank filling

Sometimes trash or debris can cause the diaphragm not to seal in the water pump. This can cause you fresh water tank to fill while on city water. I put a shutoff valve in the line from the fresh tank to the pump. Just turn it off when on city water and back on when using pump. Problem solved.

The fresh water overflow happened to us on a vacation trip.We corrected the problem by installing a water pressure reducer with a gage attached to it so we knew how much pressure needed to be for the RV. I would keep pressure under. Ours had a green color for good pressure area . I would keep it just at the beginning of the green.
