Re: EZ Zip-blocker wear on awning
Has anyone used the EZ Zipblocker for a long period of time.
Does or would the zipper part that rolls up with the awning wear holes in the awning?
I am thinking about buying one.
Any feedback appreciated.

Since the product is made by the same folks that manufacture the awning it might be best to call and ask them. EZ Zipblocker is a Carefree of Colorado product.

If your patio awning is a CoC Latitude, I would be wary of using it.
Use caution when using with any awning that has an automatic retract function. See Awning Owners Manual for specific details

Got one. Don’t see why it would be an issue.

Issue is simple.
If it is staked out and a high wind, or heaven forbid a pop-up thunderstorm, comes along and the awning attempts to retract what happens next. Does the awning fail to retract, does the screen tear, do the stakes get pulled from the ground and either roll into and teat the awning or constantly beat against the side of the coach and possibly break a window?
Again I say the best thing to do is call Carefree and ask them for their advice based on the awning on the coach.

Kinda defeats the purpose of the wind sensor doesn't it.
Goes to my belief that "an RV owner can do anything their wallet can handle".

If it’s staked to the ground might be Prudent to shut the auto feature off.

OMG off the topic or what.
Does anyone that has one noticed any wear on the awning material.
Do you really think asking the manufacturer if it wears on the awning that they sell any.
Just asking for a real world review

I did answer it and then other issues raised. Don’t see an issue of wear. Not a big deal. Sheesh.

I've had a full awning privacy/sun shade roll up with my awning for over 4 years, no issues whatsoever....it just slides into the additional 'spline' on my awning roller.
also, I use it to keep the awning still by using the lower eyelets to hold it down with bungee cords/ground stakes. If I need to roll in the awning, I just unclip the bungees from the shade bottom eyelets.
While the manufacturers may say that these are not designed to roll up with the awning, I've never seen any reason why not... it's certainly not been any issue for us, and not having to take out a shade and try to install it at every stopover is nice... it's just there everytime you run out the awning : )

The main point of these is you can easily zip them in from the ground. Much more better.
