A/C question

We have a 2017 29H Thor Outlaw. Only issues I have had were self inflicted!

We have a question. When driving and A/C is on (which is mandatory in Texas in the summer), going up a hill or passing, the A/C fan speed decreases drastically when the motor downshifts. If it is a long hill, which we have in the hill country, it can be a while before the engine returns to normal gearing and the A/C fan returns to normal speed.
Is there a way to delete/override the decrease in fan speed?

thank you

Doug

It sounds to me like that could be a system to limit A/C output when climbing, therefore preventing ebgine overheating. I would leave it alone.

Almost sounds like a HVAC blending door problem.
There is a door on the ac system that changes where the air goes defroster, dash, floor.
It's moved with cables and vacuum.
If you have a vacuum leak and or at or near full throttle (climbing) you may run our of vacuum causing the door to redirect the air to the defroster or floor.
Next time you notice the ac is slowing down reach up and feel the defroster, then the heater outlets.
If the air moves pull the doghouse start the motor listen and look for damaged vacuum lines.

Good luck and keep us updated.

Sounds like the same answer I would give. The fan speed is not changing - the location the fan is blowing to is changing due to loss of vacuum. Some members have found vacuum hoses left unplugged on their engines. Pull the doghouse and have a peek.
