A question on documents???

We recently purchased and took delivery of our new RV.
We were planning to spend the nite at or near the dealer ( 3 hrs from home) and I had told the wife to expect spending the eve. Filling out warranty registration cards for all the different appliances and accessories. When all was said and done we ended up driving home and between that and the excitement of exploring our new toy did not notice the we received no “owners packet” other than a real nice folio with the registration and some loan papers.
Upon contacting the dealer we were told by one employee that that should have all been in the black binder. Upon rechecking and a day it two later we were told by another employee that all the owners manuals and etc. were available online and that there were no individual warranties.... if there were any issues we were to call the dealer and work thru them. On the one hand I can see that as having some validity but I would have at least expected an owners manual from Ford on the E350 chassis to give me basic info on maintenance schedules and such.

Just curious at this point what is considered normal re this kinda thing as this is our first RV and I expect some differences between this and purchasing a standard passenger vehicle.

Thanx in advance for any info or advice.

You should have received a binder/folder with the same warranty info from Ford that you would have got if you bought an E350 van from Ford as well as operating instructions and warranty statements for all the appliances in your RV. You shouldn't need to fill out warranty cards as THOR is supposed to transmit the sold date to the appliance manufacturers as well as the owners information for both warranty and recall support.

Let me guess from the model you have listed (24FE). You purchased a Freedom Elite from Camping World. Camping World was your first mistake. Not sure about the motor homes built for Camping World only but the others built by Thor usually have a black bag filled with owner's manuals, some loose AV hardware and cables, a brake controller pig tail connector and a few other items. If the bag is not in a drawer, closet or under a seat or bench cushion then chances are Camping World removed it and doesn't know where it is.

Go to the Thor Owners page and enter your VIN. You should be able to download all of the documentation to include the Ford owners manual. Hopefully Thor does that for the Camping World exclusive units as well as the others.

Where are you located in Virginia?

There also should be a letter size sticker in one of the closets, stuck to the inside of a door, that gives you all the brand and serial number specifics for every component installed in your camper. If you have an issue of the road and need to call CS for any of those things, the Serial Number will help them narrow down your issue. But to answer your question...YES...the dealer should have included that in the coach. Thor can send you that sheet for your unit if it's not there. They keep excellent records.

Welcome to the Forum, and congratulations on your new purchase!
Normally: the "finance Guy" ends up with all of your paperwork.
I'd call back, and ask to speak with that person.

Thanx to All !!

Sorry this has taken so long but thanx to all for the info !!
This was pretty much what I expected to hear although to date and after repeated attempts we have had no success via the local dealer that is a 2+ hour drive away.
We will need to try contacting Thor directly but will have to try and locate a # and I expect will spend time and effort playing phone tag with their support system.
I did receive a private message via email re this post with contact info for them but it appears that I have sustained some sort problem where by my email archive has been “cleaned out” by my provider and that message was deleted due to its date of receipt being beyond the newly imposed limit.
If anyone has a solid contact number for Thor Support they could provide, or if the original sender of the pm would be gracious enough to resend it it would be highly appreciated.

Thanx again ! For the assistance!

When we bought ours from CW (I know - ) in addition to a nice black binder with all the sales, warranty and finance paperwork, there was a large plastic bag inside the rig containing owner manuals and warranty info for every device (including duplicates en Espanol) and assorted hardware. Only thing missing was the second set of keys, which they promptly got replacements for.

Just out of curiosity=EA37TS how many units have you purchased from CW, that tainted your view? Or you just going by what you've heard on the net?
