Slide will not extend

First attempt to extend the main slide on our 2016 Thor Hurricane 35C. I've kept up on lubbing the slide tracks and keeping clean. When I push the Extend button one ends starts to move outwards but the other end doesn't move.

Any suggestions on what I can do?

That sounds like what ours did on the ws31. The motor quit working. And, with it stuck "in" Thor told out RV shop they had to drill a hole through the trim on the slide to get to one set screw! The tech pried the motor out instead. We had both motors replaced, so there wouldn't be any question about the motor. If you have to pay for it out of pocket, they have motors on Ebay for WAY less money.

Check for the error code on the controller and check that both motor cables are plugged into the controller. You can swap the motor leads on the controller and see if there is any change. Lastly all the controllers are the same so if you suspect a bad controller you can take one from another slide and see if it work. Maybe this will help <http://www.amlrv.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Schwintek-Manual-override.pdf>

Beau388,

Thanks for the response. Any idea where the controller box is located?

Most of the wall slides are in a basement storage compartment. My big slide controller is in the pass-through compartment next to the rear wheels. The bedroom controller is under the bed next to the power center and the controller for the front bunk (same as the other two) is in the left most cabinet above the driver's seat.

Found it. Thanks.

Control panel is indicating motor #1 Short between controller and motor.

Now to hunt it down

If you are lucky, it is water in the connector at the motor. I have had trouble with my bedroom slide after a fierce thunderstorm. It is a code 9 Hall short to ground. I use the emergency override to get the slide out, and when the connector dries out all is well until the next storm.

I was looking at the control box and it indicated with an arrow to push the button for Emergency overuse. But there is NO button that I could find. The arrow points toward the indicator light.

I think you've found the correct "button". It's just hard to see. Watch to see how the experts do it.

Well I got lucky. Found the motor, unplugged the connector, plugged back in and everything is working.
