Myakka State Park

Just retured from a week at Myakka State Park in Sarasota, FL. What a great place with so much to do. Plenty of Alligators and every kind of bird you can see. Also stayed 1 night at Lazy Days in Tampa, largest RV dealer on east coast.

It is beautiful. Any if you are a Senior, Florida resident, the camping fee is half price - and they have electric.

Great report, thanks! Would add that it's not that far from Myakka SP to the gulf and Siesta Key Beach. Great to see the sunset from there.

Do they have RV spots there? I didn't find anything on their page. It would be so convenient for us to stay there when we make our annual trek to the Sarasota National Cemetery.

Myakka River SP has 86 RV sites at two locations. Oscar Scherer is just west of Myakka and is closer to the gulf. Beautiful beaches between these parks and Venice. Venice is also a nice little town to visit with shops, restaurants and a little theater.
