Awning not working.

Before heading out on our trip I washed the rig and treated the roof. Get to our first stop, and the awning does nothing. Fuses and breakers are good. Could I have done something while washing? Suggestions?

Have you checked the 12v fuses?

Have you downloaded the manuals from Carefree?

Fuses are good. I don't have the manuals with me, so thanks for the link.

I had that happen to us, we had to replace the motor.
Very easy job.

I may have to do that. It's under warranty, but we're on the road for a couple weeks.

Did you have the awning out when cleaning it up? It's easy to roll it up "over itself". If extending and you keep your finger on the button, it will actually wind back up over itself...then when you push the extend button...it tries to retract but it's already there. I've done this several times with the MH and previous TT...lots of folks have.

Here's an easy one to try: set your parking brake, and see if that makes a difference.
(Nothing on my rig happens; unless that brake is engaged...)

It was rolled up while cleaning the coach. I didn't wash the awning itself. I've tried the buttons near the door and the control panel (Firefly). I don't even hear the motor trying to do anything.

Have you pulled the switch from the wall? Ours blew the fuse in the wall.

Brake is on, keys are not in the ignition, all fuses and breakers are good. Must be the motor.

Good luck! I hope that it turns out to be something that is simple, and inexpensive.

Well about a week ago I made the mistake of having my engine on to cool the RV some while I was unhooking stuff outside.

Before I realized what was wrong I took the switch out of the wall and one of the wires was off (it must have been very loose so when I removed the switch it fell off). But the first problem was the key in the ignition - but I could have had two problems at the same time and didnt know it?

So check the wires and the 2amp fuse behind the wall (very hard to get to on my RV - under my sink in the back). Small red 12volt fuse cover.

Firelfly system has no switch in the wall.

FWIW - Had awning stop retracting at about 90%. Tied it up to get home. Later found a wire with a loose connection in the forward support arm channel. Tightened the connection and good to go ever since. Hope your issue is something simple - good luck.
