Jamie & ONeil...thanks..AGAIN !
Nothing lights up or registers in the gauge cluster..
the Axxera radio does not come on (which it did last week)

If this is a fuse..would it be a fuse in the compartment under the drivers seat? or the box we read about somewhere under the hood ?

Ron has a Volt Meter...he will get it out tomorrow am ..

He appreciates your feedback

K

Unfortunately, because Thor modified the ignition system, it could be in either the Thor fuse box in the compartment under the driver's seat or in the Ford fuse box on the driver's side of the engine compartment. Both have ignition relay boxes.

BATTERY UPDATE ... our Axis 24.1 is still dead in the driveway.
When he checks the house batteries, his volt meter shows charged.
However, when we disconnect the shore power, all the house lights are out,
including the microwave, tv & radio in bedroom.
We have been in the USE mode since we brought the motorhome home.
**does this unit have an inverter ? CampingWorld tech attempted to tell me it does have an inverter...then backed off and said it might not.
It is too late in the day to call Thor Customer Care...We called Roadside Assist..they will be out Monday unless we resolve the situation.
Ron has not addressed the fuse boxes yet as he is not sure where to begin !

Jamie,we printed your photo of the fuse box under the drivers seat.
Now have these to add to the collection....the one under the hood and the one near the steering column.

We presume the fuse box under the refrig. is not relevant to our problem.

When you are checking the house batteries are you checking them with the cables connected to the batteries and the shore power plugged in and on? If you are more than likely you are not reading battery voltage but rather voltage coming from the converter to the batteries.

Have you tried jump starting the coach?

The Axis/Vegas does not have an inverter and the fuse box under the fridge is for your 120v systems while on shore power. What you describe as happens when you disconnect your house batteries sounds like what happened to me in my Vegas. I had house lights on shore power and when the coach was running, but no house lights when the engine was off. My problem was with the disconnect switch. It had tripped and I did not know it existed. It sounds to me like you may have a bad store/use switch or a bad disconnect switch. Is your chassis battery fully charged? If it is and you still cannot start the coach then you have multiple problems or somehow the chassis and house systems are connected, when they should not be. One other suggestion that is easy to try. Push the disconnect switch on the house batteries (so the lever is showing) and see if the coach will start - if you have enough voltage in your starting battery. If not, connect the house battery switch and disconnect the engine switch and see if that makes any difference to your house systems. Good luck! Electrical problems are just frustrating!

Before you try to jump start, make sure you do not have a completely dead battery. The battery has to have enough voltage to run the engine computer and systems after you disconnect the jumper cables. If it does not you will damage your engine computer and that is very expensive.

Thanks! I really needed that chuckle after spending the last week worrying about it and the last few hours trying to check E in chassis battery.

To vrb. See the thread at http://www.thorforums.com/forums/f10...-new-post.html for additional discussion/ explanation of the battery charging system. Gives some additional ideas and things to look at and consider. As if it was not complicated enough already!

ONeil .. The disconnect switch you referred to..is that the one next to the HOUSE batteries? or the switch in the compartment under the drivers seat?
And...the Use/Store switch has occurred to us as well.

We are thinking that the breaker (?) in the box under the drivers seat is locked up.....would appreciate someone advising what it looks like and where it is located on the 24.1 .. in that compartment ! It is, apparently, smaller than we expected it to be.

Could you snap a photo of it and post it. I believe the newer units use something different than the one in our Axis. I suspect you have a newer one given that is smaller than you expected...

Will disturb that stuff if you want to see contents of box closer.
RON, a few minutes ago, pulled out the Use/Store switch .. (we are on shore power right now) ... the switch for the awning is hot .. the Use/Store switch is not hot

Well the box on the lower right with the white cover is the slide controller. The other box is the fuse box and looks nothing like what is in my unit (which you've already guessed since you have looked at the pics of my rig).

Is there a diagram on the inside cover of that box? (I see in the one picture you took the cover off). If not you may want to send Thor an e-mail asking for that diagram--they have been pretty responsive to our requests in the past.

thank you Jamie ... will check inside of fuse box ...
We did what ONeil suggested...disconnecting house batteries to see if coach will start...it did not
disconnected chassis battery at box...no reaction.
When this thing is all said and done...we are going to fully document our researh and help from everyone on this forum...for someone in the future !!
**Ed has said, more than once,..and perhaps you too...when we push the Use switch, we should hear a click/clunk up front...to date we have never heard such a noise...ever...
Ron thinks the Use switch is bad ... or that Isolater switch..wherever it is.

Take the foam off, I had it too and it does nothing except keep you from getting into the box. Inside the cover is the fuse diagram which I posted a few weeks ago. I will find it and post it again here. I would say bypass the use/store switch by cutting the wires and splicing them together or building a double ended "male" wire.... However, that should not keep your coach from starting, if you have a good starting battery. The chassis battery should still charge (I think) if the use/store switch is defective. So that might solve your house battery issue, but probably not your starting battery issue -- if the use/store switch is bad.

ONeil..thank you .. yes..your fuse box is identical to ours...but does not show another relay switch diagram..correct?
Do you have any idea where the 'clunk/click' resonates from when the Use button is depressed? Knowing that you, too, have the 2016.

When you say that the use/store switch is not "hot", what exactly do you mean? If you disconnect the wires leading into the switch and put your volt meter wires into both ends, you get no voltage? If that is true, no power is getting to the use/store and the issue is with the disconnect switch next to the battery or before that. That is why you do not have a click. Do you have power into the disconnect switch? Is power coming into the disconnect switch, but not getting thru it?

Correct, it does not show another relay switch. The click comes from the use/store switch itself. You can hear it connect and disconnect.
