New Tow

Can anyone point me to a reference for understanding of what kind of car can be towed. Is the rule of thumb that a front wheel automatic car needs a tow dolly? What about all wheel drive?

Motorhome Magazine has a yearly review on dingy towing - what cars with what transmissions can be towed 4 wheels down. Go to their website for a copy.

Basically, most FWD cars with manual transmissions can be towed. Very few automatics can be towed, and seems to get fewer each year .

You can also go to iRV2.com, great forum with lots of information! Also if you join FMCA they also put out list of vehicles that can be towed.
