Honda says NO, REMCO says NO, but lots of people are doing it. Honda only supports the CRV and FIT after 2005, but even those aren't supported after 2014 with the CVT.

My daughter towed their 2006 Pilot to Yellowstone NP and back. I believe that they did have to stop every few hours and start it so that the transmission was not overheated. I have no idea if that is something that would be covered by warranty, probably not, but they did it with no damage.

From what we were told pilots can't be towed 4 wheels down. Check the specs to see what can be towed. We had a 2013 Honda we owed on a trailer, and I had to trade it in for a jeep Cherokee trailhawk. I miss my leather seats and head room. The back door isn't automatic, so we don't have to worry about it opening accidently.
The jeep tows really well 4 wheels down. It is ok for short trips around the rv camp areas. I just have to remember to duck my head getting in.

Motorhome magazine has a list of what models can tow 4 wheels down.

lots of folks tow vehicles that otherwise would be told 'no' by the manufacturer, but do it anyway with certain modifications, such as disconnecting the drive shaft, or adding a transmission lube pump, etc., but that's probably not for everyone. Most of us want something simple and easy, and also designed by the factory to allow it.

We had a 2011 pilot (4WD) and could not tow by any method other than a trailer. The 2WD versions should be towable with a dolly as I believe they are FWD. We went through quite an evolution - Pilot couldn't tow any trailer we wanted, so we bought a 2012 Nissan Armada. It towed great but we only got about 175 miles from a tank. 2 years later we moved to a gas Class A and traded the Armada for a Mini Cooper that we dolly towed for another 2 years. DW got really tired of the work involved with the dolly and never did like the Mini. Now we have a Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk which we tow 4 down. Hopefully we are now stable.

I bet there's a lot of American Made cars that can be towed this way. Why limit yourselves to the Japanese.

Lots of American cars, just have to consider car weight and price. If your tow car costs more and weighs more than your RV, it could limit the amount of travel cash. We had to stay on a tight budget. I don't know where my jeep was made. Now I have to go look it up. Lol.

I would never buy from a dealer again. I should have used the online purchase through any of the carvana or specialty sites. We were in a hurry, and it cost us. But the car has a lot of get up and go, very sporty, but I miss my creature comforts.

Edmonds or Kelly bluebooks will save you money if you aren't in a hurry.

Retail anything is going away...we probably won't see it in our time but soon, everything we buy will be purchased online will be brought to our door. THEN...some foreign country will hack the internet and we'll all die of starvation. There's a company in Atlanta starting up that will come to your home and gas up your cars.

I quit buying from Amazon when I can buy from local stores that hire local people. Save $10 dollars or save 10 jobs. However, the car dealers are not always straight forward with costs but it was my own fault for not getting 3 bids first.

"Time's they are a-changing". You will not stop Amazon or any other concern that ships for free to your door, has the (almost) cheapest prices, and gets it to you very quickly. I like your idea but it is now out of date. Remember when you used to buy from a local shop owner that you knew by name and would stand behind his products with his own guarantee...that change about 50 years ago with Sears, Payless, Walmart etc. etc. Who does not shop at Walmart for price and convenience (by the way, they destroyed all, the mom and pop stores in small towns a long time ago as well).
As a kid (5 years old) I remember making my first purchase of candy at "Earls", a variety store in San Francisco on Portola drive and, of course, the owner was there behind the counter! When I go by that shopping center now, the buildings are mostly the same but none of the original storeowners are there any longer...the good 'ol days. (that was 1956)

The mom and pop stores had a hard time with the cost of hiring extra people, and they didn't have 401k or retirement plans. I love the quick click and order, but when a town dies because their aren't any jobs than plumbers, elec., builders, etc. Lose local customers.
