I mostly agree with what others have said. Usually I leave my awning open. It is safely tied down and clipped on to the awning support so unless it is hit by a very strong wind it is not bothered, but I have gotten up in the middle of the night to close the awning.

Of course, if there was a rowdy bunch nearby I would probably be more cautious???
