We have, in the past, towed 4 down a 2001 and a 2007 Civic with a MANUAL transmission. Only thing we had to do was in the 2007 we had to disconnect the battery to prevent the unlocked key position from killing the battery. And yes, the Honda Manual said not to tow. Why would we be able to source the necessary base plate if this were not an engineered solution.
