Cummins=You buy watts from the power co., not amps. There MAY be a small efficiency benefit but it would be very very small on a dryer. We would be talking pennies per year It comes out the same for consumption. The benefit of 240v over 120v is in the wire size, pipe size and circuit breaker cost.
