Once level - you can really place the level gauges any place convenient for you to see them - inside or out (depends on whether the driver or the placer of the leveling blocks wants to see it!)
Since the unit is level now - mount them to show level - and you will be able to get back to that setting later.

We have the auto levelers in our Hurricane - but DW still uses a square bubble level on the floor to see if it leveled to her satisfaction...
