I've heard a similar thing said about locking your car doors.....
I have considered many times to install a locking gas cap, but figure since the cap is so exposed, one nice whack with a hammer, brick ,etc.... would defeat any plastic locking cap I can buy.....
But on the other hand.....
a locking cap might prevent a mischievous 10 year old from pouring something into the tank that I don't want in there...... just to help to guide the innocent little lads on the honest path.
