Gemini 23TR under chassis generator move

Has anyone heard of or have a lead on moving 23TR gen from underneath chassis to maybe a side storage bin with a slide out tray for easier access and maintenance?

Following this thread. Love the location for extra storage. Hate it for service. Would love a solution.

The reason it may not be in a compartment could be the space requirements for cooling. You might not have a compartment large enough to accommodate the generator. Get the installation manual and do the measuring.

Cummins Onan has a strick policy on how gensets are mounted within each coach configuration. They must approve the mount system, location and assure proper cooling is available. Whatever you do, run your plan by them as well. My opinion, if there were a better place for it that would allow more storage, they would have done that in the design.

Thanks Gritz. That policy does it for me. I won't be trying to move it. The problem is the generator is mounted in the middle (side to side) of the RV. The only way to change the oil or do any maintenance is to crawl under the RV and reach up. It's not a big deal. I only change the oil once a year. But it's a pain to do and the air usually turns blue and I'm covered in oil before I'm done. It would have been great to have it on one side like the others I've seen and be able to stand, kneel or sit so you approach the job straight on. The other advantage of it being in the middle is weight.
