Tire Chains

Hi - I have a Thor 19-G on an E-350. We will be heading over Vail Pass this weekend and I worry the roads might be a wintery mess. Any advice on tire chains? Thanks!

If you put chains on for the climb: they had better be tighter than a gnat's bung stretched over a bushel basket.
If they start slapping around: you'll chew up bodywork in a heartbeat!

You need to look at the vehicle's owners manual to see if you can even use chains. Most are now only allowing you to use cables because of the tight wheel well clearance issues.

Wait until the roads are clear or find an alternate route.

Not sure if you have a Les Schwab center by you they would be able to fit you for chains. I would head south to warmer climate myself

Just about any auto parts location should be able to help you out with the proper fit cables. I have a set for winter use and have never used them to date. I try to travel when the roads are open and not take questionable routes with bad weather forcast.

We call MidWest Georgia home right now so saw no reason to look into tire chains. Our son moved to Denver a couple of years ago, so we've taken a couple of trips there in the motorhome.
Bought a pair of these just in case we got caught in a winter storm on the road to Denver and needed to get to safety. Have not needed them, but they give a level of comfort in case we have to go a short distance.
