2018 Miramar
Hello
We are looking at the Miramar 35.3. I think we found the only 2017 left in the Southeast US. Unfortunately, we don't like the color of the cabinets. My wife doesn't like dark wood as it makes the interior look dark. The local dealership has a 35.3 on order (and can order us one custom) but it will be a 2018 model. There are several changes for the 2018 models, including colors. He emailed me some pictures of the new full body paint colors but the pictures are blurry. The pictures do have the paint codes listed but I have been unable to find any type of lookup online for the codes.
Another change for 2018 is gas appliances are no longer available in Miramars. They now come with a convection microwave and an induction stovetop. Unfortunately we have no pictures of the inside of the 2018 model.
The dealer has given us a good price on the 2017 (32% under MSRP) and said he would only charge us another 3K for ordering a new 2018 model. I hesitate to do this without actually seeing what the 2018 looks like. I really only have a blurry picture of the outside colors and a list of changes between the 2017 and 2018. Does anyone have any inside knowledge of where I can get more info on the exterior paint codes from Thor? They kept the inside color we like for the 2018s so I have seen that in person.
I just hesitate to order going in blind but I also hate to lose a good deal as I know each year model year the prices go up.

So I guess that means the gas hook up for the outdoor kitchen/grill will be going away on certain models.

They would still need a propane system for heat, and probably for water heater also, so the connection for outside grill may still be there. I'd expect that not to change.

By the way, does anyone know when other 2018 model year RVs start to come out? Or when information is made available regarding changes for those who order a 2018?

It looks like the grill option is now available for all options so I guess the Miramar models still have propane.

they dropped 2 floor plans, they could be adding some mid year though.
The only remaining exterior kitchen model is the 34.2, and it removes the grill - strange, since they are adding a grill connection to not ex-kit models.

I was kind of bummed out when I saw this. I thought this would come in handy while standing outside extending the slides.

The Firefly panels are bluetooth (no wires). I would than can be unclipped and taken anywhere with in range. <http://www.fireflyintegrations.com/resources.html>

The problem may be that the Aussie grill that came with the Miramars and Challengers, as well as other manufacturers as well, is no longer made. Someone may need to purchase3 their own grill and then convert it for use with the exterior LP connection. I did the conversion when I went away from the Aussie and moved over to the Weber Q 2200 for my Challenger.

I haven't had a chance to use mine yet, but during my initial walk-through with the dealer I made sure that all of the Rapid Camp features were working. So, I am not aware of any problems with the system.

Options / Features Dropped
• Rapid Camp
• Portable Grill (34.2)
I like Dave's idea about the Weber Q better anyway as long as the 34.2 still has the gas hook up.
Thanks for all the info Metalgator. Making me think I want to see the 2018's

Well, we took the plunge and ordered a new 2018 Miramar 35.3! We are really excited but we will have to wait 12-15 weeks until delivery. I'm a little freaked out about spending that much money but I took people's advice who said "buy your last RV first". We ordered exactly what we wanted so we should be happy when it comes in.

Miramar 2017 34.3 - junk
Bought a 34.3 last June. Had a major malfunction with the full wall slide that was delivered (unbeknownst to us) with only a 2 track system. Malfunctioned first weekend! Went back for repairs and it began to drift out during travel. Sent it back to Indiana last December and came back this February still broken. Had to hire attorney - as Thor failed miserably with their customer service.
The rapid camp system was soooo dumb. It can be programmed for leveling option FYI (which is what I really wanted). The rapid camp system usually lost contact and would sometimes stop it's slide in the middle of a cycle - which is real bad for the synchronization. This is why they likely stopped selling it.
Good luck....
