Progressive is the worst!

I used Tobin Agency, out of NJ they assigned me to Safeco which is part of Liberty Mutual. My 2018 motorhome and 09 Tundra is approximately $1400 for the year!! 300,000/500,000 full coverage on motorhome includes towing, rental, trip insurance.

AAA has good rates especially if you have multiple policies. They are non-profit.

Holy Crap. We pay under $500 a year for fire, theft and Indian raid for our 32 foot Windsport through Safeco. Also, check Costco. We changed from Geico and saved about 50% on our car insurance and that more than makes up for the cost of membership. They do homeowners, too but we live too close to the ocean to be eligible.

Feeling good about our Progressive rates after reading this thread. North Carolina, 2015 class A, 5k miles per year, $1k deductible - just renewed for $750 and change. A bit of a discount by arranging through USAA.

Get a quote from Geico (if you are eligible). We pay under $800.00 for full coverage (250 deductible) which includes towing and roadside assistance.

I don't feel too bad, just renewed our RV insurance with Progressive, less than $600.00 a year.

Progressive did the same to us this year; it's not you. We changed to General.

It’s hard to figure. I had Progewssive through Good Sam for a good rate, about $800. Then for no reason it went to $1200 so I called Good Sam and they switched me to National General for about $850. Then the next year National General went up to $1,100. Called Good Sam yet again and now I’m back with Progressive at $650. It defies explanation.

FWIW I’ve had my vehicles and home with State Farm for nearly half a century. Wonderful rates and the RV would be cheap too but the coverage is not nearly as complete as the RV specific policies available through Good Sam.

Often there are big discounts for new customers for the first year. You just have to be a 'new' customer, somewhere every year.

What's the shortcomings on the State Farm policy?
I have them.
I didn't know they weren't adequate.
What won't they cover?

For me the biggest difference was full replacement coverage that State Farm didn’t offer. But also there is coverage for attached items like awnings, trailers, air conditioners and such. And for personal possessions inside like clothing and tools. And they claim to have RV experienced adjusters instead of a guy that only knows cars. My 2019 Newmar is less than$60/mo and was barely more than State Farm. Call Good Sam and get a quote. Typically they’ll send you a $10 gift card for Camping World/Gander just for calling.

Thanks.
I'll check the full replacement thing with them.
They've been so good about lifts and stuff on the trucks.
I might be able to go stated value on the 24.1

I'll call Monday.

I’ll be interested. State Farm has been good to me over the years and it’s been a number of years since I shopped the RV with them.

I had Progressive through USAA up until last year where I started to pay a higher fee. I shopped around and found Geico had beat them. With Progressive, I have 3 motorcycles insured with them, I though there would be some sort of discount, but it didn't change the cost.

I called Geico about my motorcycles, they couldn't touch Progressive's prices.

Well after reading these I guess I'm still getting a decent deal. I carry $250k liability and full coverage, full replacement value, and no deductible. Lost my discount without the motorcycle and still only paying $706 annually.

We use national general for the RV. We only pay $16 right now bc it's in storage but when in use $76. We have full coverage on the RV and 20,000 personal property. It's good enough. We bought our 1993 jayco eagle for $3000 back in August of 2019. 34,000 miles. It's almost completely remodeled. Can't wait to get back on the road
