Travel Trailer to ACE

Hi all!
I am new to the forum to try and educate myself about the ACE 29.4 before jumping in. One big question is as I get older I prefer to move away from all the hooking and unhooking of a trailer. Also, it seems the RV would allow a quicker getaway?
I don't know if I'm just trying to convince myself to take the leap, but it seems RV's are an easier way to go? Does this makes sense to anyone? We take a lot of weekend trips and feel we could save money on hotels and dry camp at softball tourneys where our daughter plays and other activities spots.
Looking for input on whether my impression is what some of you have experienced.
Thanks for your input and time.

Sue

Well you really can't count it as "saving money on hotels" because you still have the monthly payment on the motorhome, insurance, fuel, maintenance, etc. Sure the cost of campgrounds are less than hotels but there are other costs.

Having said that: There are other plusses to think about:
  • If you're not pulling a car, yes you can leave it loaded and just hop in and go
  • Using them at softball/baseball tournaments is great (you can even have a team cookout--see pic below)
  • At said tournaments if there is a large gap (say your team is skipping a game) you can hop in the RV and take a nap!
  • You can tailgate other activities as well. Planning a long drive somewhere: Take the RV its much more comfortable

We moved from a 5th wheel/pickup combo to our Axis: Yes it is much easier--even when pulling a car I find it easier to load the car up than it was to hitch up the 5er.

Speaking of tailgating at tournaments: Here we are getting ready to cook burgers & dogs for my son's baseball team after a double header. We're parked in the parking lot of a local city park:

We've done that twice now and both times it was a big hit (this most recent time I think I sold two Axis' ! LOL).

(When I took the pic the last game was still going on, I had walked over to the camper to begin cooking and snapped the photo as I walked up to it.)

Thanks Jamiegeek! Love the pic And that exactly what I envision. Eventailgating for college ball games.
I k own there will be added maintenance expense for an RV too....gas for one.

I have had both MHs and trailers, will not buy another trailer! My wife loves being able to walk back and get something to drink or a snack while we are on the road. Sometimes she sits at the dinette and reads. We like sleeping in OUR bed and using OUR bathroom! Lots of pluses to a MH!!!

This is our second coach from Thor and would buy from them again!

As far as gasoline, got to buy it for a vehicle to tow a trailer too!
