Alpine Halo11 iLX-F411 upgrade on Class C w/Ford chassis
The Alpine with the 11" floating screen was the perfect replacement when the original Axxera receiver failed in our 2017 Four Winds 22E. It gave us an easy-to-use touch screen with a much superior display and great sound. With the better video display, we also upgraded the rearview camera and discovered some issues that could be important if you are considering a change. First, the Alpine Receiver only works with standard rearview cameras with the common CVBS output. It does NOT work with the new AHD high-resolution cameras. The screen display on the Alpine is only 800 X 480 pixels or WVGA format. A 700TVL CVBS camera shows excellent resolution on this screen. The Alpine lets you chose between NTSC and PAL formats. The side cameras on our Motorhome were NTSC, so we stuck with that on the new rearview camera and selected a 3.6mm-90 degree lens. We have a great view behind us for backing now.
