Ouch! That seems VERY expensive for data restricted to a phone... unless I'm not reading the restrictions correctly?? I'm reading that unlimited data is restricted to a PHONE... it's limited using a laptop, etc.

So, I don't see the advantage over a much cheaper plan allowing unlimited hotspot to connect a laptop - or stream a movie to Fire stick/TV, etc. Seems pricey when you're limited to squinting at a tiny phone screen...

Buy a PepWave and then get the coverage for the carrier you want and install the SIM. Get the PepWave Max Duo Transit and you can add the SIMs for 2 or more different carriers.

That seems crazy expensive to me..... you can buy 100GB AT&T or Cricket Plan for $55/month for a Winegard ConnecT 2. You can stream a lot of video with 100GB.

I also don't buy their "No Throttling" claim. They don't own the network. They are leasing it from some carrier. Unless the carrier owns this coming, the network owner is always going to give their customers priority.

Another vote for Pepwave. Mine is a Max mini BR-1. Just make sure the SIMs are for a MOBILE hot spot. It takes a while to get one from T-Moble if you are not a cell phone customer.

Going to take the PepWave though Yellowstone today and see if we get any better signals than the phones got on Tuesday. 2 different carriers (Verizon and AT&T) so we’ll see.

BTW, through a reseller 4 SIMS, 2 for each carrier for redundancy, 200 GB per carrier for 400 GB total for 189.00 per month no contract.

I think every plan I have looked at that says 'unlimited' is actually limited at some set point where it will switch to low speed. It does not cut you off so it is 'unlimited' but it slows you down to where it is almost unusable.

Wow... and I remember back in 1980 when I got "cutting edge" interactive cable from Time Warner (called Qube). It was a premium at $20 per month... the grandaddy of current day TV cable. I thought that was exorbitant at the time... now people regularly plunk down $150 a month for internet/cable, and sometimes more than that for cell plans!

My ATT plan (grandfathered) is $23 per month for 17GB then SD unlimited. It works for everything (15 ghz down) except the 6 to 10 am and 4 to 7 pm. When I have used my 17GB of priority service, then it is 128 khz (min) which is good enough to surf without pictures. The T-Mobile is 50GB for $50 then SD. It is my total Internet since our phones have no data. I use the Pepwave Max Mini at home and on the road. We do not stream except for Amazon Prime and DirecTV. All most streaming goes to the HD (Synology NAS with 1.5TB). The Pepwave continually scans the frequencies and speeds then selects the service which is faster. When locked on to one SIM, it is using the other SIM to find a better speed. It scans all frequencies for that carrier except T-Mobile's 600mhz cat 5.

Speed is measured in GB/second (or KB/Second), not hertz. Hertz is frequency.

We have the ATT original connected car plan at $20 a month plus taxes so about $22 per month for 22 GB of priority service then deprioritized on congested towers. I don't know that we have ever been deprioritized. The SIM originally came in a Mobley but now resides in a Netgear LTE modem.

I have the same plan. I use 150-200gigs every month. I think I have only been throttled a couple of times.

Limited signals in some areas but extremely good outside the canyons and valleys. Out of the mountains now the PepWave is screaming and putting the Winegard and campground WiFi to shame.

Att 100gb

What device are you using to get the 100GB, I got a Spark thinking I could use it but that only works when the vehicle is turned on and if you are idle for 30 minutes it shuts down. I’d love to get that 100gb but i have know idea how. Are you using a phone as a hotspot?

So far the Pepwave we have seems to do the trick with the ATT 100 gig plan. Getting ready to hit it full time in a couple weeks. We will see if we need to add another carrier in a couple months.

So are you using a phone and connecting to the Pepwave?

The pepwave is a mobile router. It will pick up a signal with a Data only plan like the one ATT is offering 100 gig for $55.00 a month. It has two slots for Data plans So you could add one from like Verizon or TMobile. It will also pick up Campground WIFi. I can tie it to my phone for WI Fi calling and web surfing.
What I like about it is that with the roof top mounted antenna it will pull in weak signals that a phone or hot spot device will not.
