Seiki TV failure - fix or replace

My 2016 ACE 30.1 came with 3 identical Seiki TVs. 32Ē, I believe.

The one in the bedroom failed about a year after purchase. I thought about moving the unit from outside to the bedroom, but I couldnít - still canít - figure out how to get the outside one off the mounting. And didnít care too much, as our taste in TV is different so we donít watch in bed.

Well, now the living room TV has failed as well. But interestingly, the failures are identical. In both cases I thought at first the remotes were not working, then found that the set didnít come on with the physical switch either, then realized that the tiny red LED that is normally lit when the TV is off but has power to it is not lit. In both cases I verified that the power outlet is hot. In both cases the TV performed normally when last used, them... nothing.

Has anybody else encountered this, and if so, is there a ready solution?

What units have people used for replacement that theyíve been happy with?

Anybody know how to get the outside TV unmounted?

The outside TV in our 2016 ACE is removed by unscrewing 4 screws, 2 top, 2 bottom where the mount attaches to the back board. Once the TV is removed you can remove the mount from the TV.

I've replaced the TVs in our bedroom and living room. Both are ROKU TVs, different brands, but still ROKU integrated. I highly recommend these for one major reason: if you connect them to the Internet via WIFI and put your location's zip code in the settings after you do your OTA scan you will have an accurate integrated TV guide on the TV.

I had the same failure with our bedroom set. I do not consider the Seiki a repairable appliance. I replaced it with Best Buy's Insignia brand, fits perfectly, and is a fully featured smart set for $119.00.

Lost two both with same conditions you describe.
First one was outside, it worked fine until the spring run up.
I bought a pro scan 32 inch ($149) , mounted it in the living area and moved the sheki outside.

Next spring I lost that one. Took that one apart and found the board corroded.

The last seiki went into my garage where itís been working since.

I now have two smart ROKUís. ($129 ea). And love them.

Another plus is the new ones have a QAM tuner that tunes to the digital cable system some campgrounds converted to.

We had our 2016 Vegas bedroom TV die also. We removed the outside TV and put it in the bedroom. Just wonder why it is the bedroom TVs that everyone has die. We just unplugged the electrical cord under the sink, removed the screws from the four mounting brackets and moved the outdoor TV to the bedroom. Has worked there for a year...

We don't use the outside TV, so that cabinet is used for storage. Replaced the original Seiki bedroom TV a couple of years ago and put the Seiki in a bedroom at home. When it's time to replace the remaining Seiki in our Vegas, I'll probably compare what Best Buy has with online retailers. Definitely will go with a smart TV.

Replaced all of the Seiki TVs with Insignia brand. Cost over 100K for all three but the dealer threw in a free 2020 Accolade 37TS.

My bad, the DW reminded me I got the Accolade when I bought the 20amp fuse.

They might have been a bit expensive; but they sure were worth it!
(We've got three LG's in our Tiffin...)

Tiffin used to use only Panasonic, I'm surprised they are installing LG's.

Replace. TVs cost so little they are disposable electronics. I prefer Samsung & LG

Another Seiki Bites the Dust

Seiki in bedroom just went out
Picture is fine, but no volume. And I wasted an afternoon making sure that itís actually the TV and not something else.

So now the Seiki is going in the trash can.

All three Seikiís are fed by the same Dish Wally so that I have the same channel in all three areas of the RV. Itís been convenient to use the one Dish remote to control all three Seikiís volume control.

Not sure what Iíll replace it with.

Same failure with our main TV - no sound. Best Buy was just a few miles away and had the 40" Insignia ROKU TV on sale. Upgrade in all aspects.

This is timely. I also have two of the three Seiki's in our unit failing to turn on but with the red light showing power is to the sets. One for about a year and now the second. I also don't use the outside tv - in fact rarely use any - and have converted the outside tv area for switches and breakers for solar and inverter additions.

I spent a good part of yesterday on the web looking for solutions and was considering breaking one open to check the power supply - based on youtube videos. A good chance for me to screw something up.

Based on this thread, a trip to Best Buy or somewhere similar makes sense.

Sounds like they spelled seiki wrong. Should have an H and a T in there....

When you can buy a new one for $100 why would you fuss with it? When mine failed to respond to the remote I unplugged it and then plugged it back in (SOP for misbehaving electronic stuff!) then reset to factory default and it worked fine thereafter. Good luck.

I replaced the bedroom and outside TVs with Samsungs ($180ish each) and the main cabin one last year for about the same cost. Major major upgrade at an affordable cost.

Actually opened mine up, however, a replacement board looks like 45-65 dollars, for that, a trip to Best But seems in order...
