Hard wired surge protection

Has any one had a surge protector installed by a dealership. I have a 2022 Thor Delano 24RW. I would rather have the protection within the coach and not out in the rain ,etc.

Progressive Industries makes an Energy Management System (EMS) that is hard wired. https://www.progressiveindustries.net/ems-hw30c
I installed the 30amp model, but they also sell a 50amp one too.
The system is not that hard to install one’s self but any reputable RV place can install it too.

What LandKO said.

I, too have a hardwired Progressive Industries 30EMS.
I purchased on Amazon.

DIY install is fairly easy to do.
I placed the 30EMS after the ATS (ie. between ATS & Converter). That way it protects the electrical system from both the genny (yes, gunny’s have been known to over/under volt) and shore power.

Works great and provides complete protection.

Whether hardwired or portable, be sure it's an EMS unit & not just a surge protector.

Another vote for Progressive Industries internal 30 EMS. I originally installed it in our 2017 Grand Design trailer, but transferred it to our motorhome in 2019. It has worked flawlessly, and saved my butt more than once from crap campground power. Over/under voltage, bad ground... seen it all. But didn't hurt my coach electrical system.

I installed a Progressive Industries EMS-HW50C. I did it myself as I know I can do better work than a dealer.

As stated by others, they are a life saver and I would not have a coach without one.

That being said, I also installed mine after the Transfer Switch. Progressive Industries offers instruction for installing it on the Shore Power Input side to the Transfer Switch or the Transfer Switch output side. I also wanted protection in case my generator has any issues so I installed it after the Transfer Switch. The way I look at it, a Transfer Switch is cheaper and easier to replace than an A/C or fridge if a generator has an issue delivering bad power and damages a compressor.

SurgeGuard hardwired install under bed in SV34

Here's my install from last weekend. I love my generator, but it is cheap protection after the transfer switch. I had to add a "mounting bracket" (2x6) so that I could position the unit vertically as required in the instructions.

Hard wired our Progressive Industries 50a in the basement power bay.. and the read out panel next to the unit..[ also laminated the card that identifies all the error codes and attached next to everything..no guessing]
