Whole house inverter

I have a 2015 thor 35sk, none of the outlets in the unit work aside from TVs and Fridge designated ones unless it's plugged into shore power or generator power. This is normal, no issue there.

I'm wondering has anyone wired the inverter to run all the outlets? I assume you could wire the inverter into the input or fuse panel used for shore/gen power but wanted to see what others have done. I requested the electrical schematics from Thor but so far only have seen the one on the thor owners mize website.

35sk, 33sw, 35sd, 35sg should all be the similar if anyone has done it on another sister model.

Thanks for any help!

You will have some obstacles to overcome:

Your OEM inverter is probably only a 1000 Watt inverter. Running the fridge and TVs doesn't leave much room for anything else.

Your OEM inverter puts out 120 VAC 60 Hz single phase. Your power center accepts 240 VAC split phase (basically, two 120 VAC legs just like your house). To power everything in the power center would require the two legs to be shorted together only when the inverter is supplying power.

When supplying the whole power center with the inverter you need to remove power to the converter or it will attempt to charge the batteries that supply the inverter.

You can easily overcome all these obstacles by purchasing a 240 VAC split phase inverter/charge and remove your current inverter and converter, but will it be worth it?

Do you know if he actually re wired the coach, or wired in into the auto transfer switch area? I'd like to do it myself, but I'm not an electrician I just play one at work.

I have an 1800 watt unit which should be plenty for fridge and the small items I'm looking to power, If I could make that work that would be the best solution but I'm not opposed to upgrading.

Removing the converter so you don't create a charging loop and the two input phases makes sense. I found a few AIMS units that look to fit the bill, Looks like it would also increase the converter amperage to charge the house batteries faster. Not cheap though I'll have to keep looking.
