The Duck is quiet. Does 1001 win a prize?

I don't think he is on because he is doing other things, or has nothing to say at this time. He does not seem to post just to post.

He must be doing other things because he ALWAYS has something to say.

His running post ran for 1000 posts and looks like he quit. He may have set a 1k post limit. We do miss him and more than one just want to know if he and his wife are ok. Bored with this forum, that is ok too.

Long live the Duck. I for one miss him strongly. He kept me on my toes and in my view brought a great no nonsense approach; if you were willing to learn by listening with an open mind. Some just wish to learn by telling you what they know and hope you will listen. I wouldn't classify the Duck's plight as quit; but acknowledge he may have grown weary.

He and wife are doing just fine and still traveling last I heard from him. No one can ever catch him, because he never makes reservations, and he keeps detouring from multiple paths of "Roads not Taken"

Well anyway, in honor of the Duck's thread about "Nothing" going over 1000 posts clearly it meant "Something"; it is only fitting I get to affix the Duck Seal of Approval.

KC, St Louis and Louisville were all busy and hectic this past week.
Driving through I experienced a got'cha.

Our rear view camera switches to sideview on lane changes and sticks there several seconds. After a lane change I quickly checked rear view and my TOAD WAS GONE!!! Wow what a sick feeling for about 3/4 of a second. Then camera switched back to rear view and there was my Toad. I'm probably the only one to ever do this.

On my older rig, I retrofitted a rear view camera. I wired it to only work when I'm backing up but have often thought of rewiring it to work on command.

I hated that delay when using side camera. One of the main reasons why I installed a dedicated monitor with option to view all camera at one time.

Having rear view all the time is helpful. Having control over it would also be nice.

That is what mine does (2019).

When in reverse it will always show the rear camera no matter what.

When driving... you can set the display to show the rear 99% full time, but if you engage left or right turn turn signal, it shows the sides until the turn is complete.

Are some saying they don't want it to show side mirrors when turning? When I have towed cars I had it on the entire time. It is nice. You can turn it on and off as you please, but you cannot turn on/off the side mirrors.

My Palazzo does the same thing. It took a while to get used to it. When I saw the post, I thought the Duck was back! DOH!

There is a number of things that take time to learn. I'm still looking for ways to reduce the reflections on the side window and side mirrors. When the sun is in certain angles 2-3 different images seemingly come together around the drivers side mirror......DOH

As a kid we watched Laurel and Hardy...that guy with the squinty eye always said..DOH

While relocating my chassis battery to one of my all steel rebuilt side bins, I added this kit with this auxiliary battery stud placement.
I can now easily be jump started if all goes bad(it has), or I can easily jump start others(it's not always all about me).

I bought just the studs.
I'm linking you to a kit.
Studs were $18 and I built my own super-duty mount and 1/0 cables.

My battery now resides here:
In the left front cubby I rebuilt and made bigger into the fenderwells enough to add two batteries.
