All this talk about naming your RV has spawned me to research a great name for mine. After much research in the Norse Mythological realm, I have decided upon "Naglfar." Naglfar is the ship, built from the nails of dead men, that is used by giants in the final apocalyptic battle of the Gods "Ragnarok."
Being as brittle of dead men's nails may be accurate considering all the repairs I am already preparing for even though I am purchasing new.

Since I have a Vegas, "Sinatra" was the clear choice!

We call ours the "BARV"....Big A** RV.
Thought about getting plates with BARV on them, but I'm too cheap.

We call our Windsport "Baby Thor". I wanted a bigger rig and the DW wanted smaller, guess who won out.

RV and Toad Name
Our RV (2017 Thor Vegas 24.1) name is "Blue" based on the decal pattern we went with. The toad (2016 Kia Soul) has been named "Ding" due to the fact that someone smoked it with their car door when it was only 4 days old!
The whole rig is know as the "Soul Train"...

Boland,
I have yet to make the mod on our 2016 Kia Soul to make it our Toad. Can you snap a picture or two of that they had to do to the Soul to make it a Toad? If you don't mind my asking, also a ball park figure on the costs?

Hi Doc
We haven't converted "Ding" yet, but I will be doing it myself. Looking at the Roadmaster EZ4 base plate and the Roadmaster Falcon 2 tow bar from eTrailer.com. Comes in right around a $1000. Installation on the Soul is actually pretty simple. After talking to my mechanic, think we are going to skip the breaking system for now. The Soul is such a light vehicle, he said we wouldn't even know it was behind us!
We also just added the OEM Cruise Control ($70) and a draw-tite trailer hitch ($100) Very easy self-installation. Loving the simplicity of Soul. Perfect toad!

My coach is know as "Dan's Dog House" I named it that because I'm living in it during the week and on the weekend I'm home. It's always funny when I leave on Sunday's by telling the kids I'm driving back to the dog house The DW is not to happy with the naming. I wonder why

Boland,
Mis-spoke, 2017 Soul here, we named it Galileo (DW named the RV Ms. Enterprise).
Really interested in how your mod goes on "Ding". I want to add Cruise Control...were did you get that, I did not think the Soul could be used to tow...but if it is, where did you get the hitch assembly?
Doc.

Ordered Steering wheel harness: 56190-B2400 / Cruise Control Switch (Black): 96700-B2100ASB from KiaPartsNow.com. Followed instructions from KiaSoulForums.com to install. Takes about 30 minutes to install.
Draw-Tite 24915 Sportframe Class I Hitch came from Amazon. Easy bolt-on accessory. eTrailer.com even has a video on installation. We are using it along with a bike rack to bring our two bikes with us on the road. Hitch can handle up to 200#.
Waiting on parts to add remote entry. (about $10 on eBay). Again, I will be installing. We save a ton of money doing these projects ourselves.

Ours has been named "James". And it really is "home, James".
I have no idea why it's a he, but it is a he.

I did that with my boat... no name for the rig, but then, I like to keep low profiles... I do refer to it as "the truck"...
QUOTE=sepesce;36713]The first thing my family did when getting our Axis was to give him a name and yes for some reason it's a " him" ... not sure why. I thought it would be interesting to hear from others who are naming theirs as well. I'm sure there are some very interesting and amusing names, as well as stories, to go along with them.
We named our Axis "Odie" (short for Odin), the kids are fans of the Thor/ Marvel movies.
Anyone else care to share?[/QUOTE]
