New member; New to RV world
Just bought a Chateau 31W (2015) and have so many questions. Thankful I found this forum! First question: is it normal for the chassis radio to only function when the battery switch is in "Use" rather than "store"? Seems the dash radio would not be tied to the coach electrical system. Thanks for any assistance, and am anxious for a road trip!

Chateau 31L and same here. It may not function BUT, if you notice, it doesn't lose any of your settings (parasitic draw). That's because the PROM is hardwired so it doesn't lose your settings (red or purple wire). Believe it or not, everything else comes from the Use/Store power source (yellow wire).


I disconnect my chassis battery if I'm parked for more than 2 weeks. I lose my settings. I'm ok with that. Battery is more expensive than changing my settings which change when I move about anyway. No skin off my nose.

you should be happy that is the case. If connected to the chassis amp draw over time kill the battery.. my radio pulls down 1.3 amps..I installed a switch to shut it off from the battery.

Welcome! Desert Rat was the name of my Dune Buggy when I was a teenager. I even had a jean jacket with it embroidered on the back. Circa 1975.
