This site has made me feel better

I thought my 2014 Palazzo 36.1 was poorly built and I should have bought something else because I have had trouble with it from the day I bought it. Every time I have used it something breaks I don't think they build these to run up and down the road. My latest problem that happened was the bedroom slide would not go out. The rear motor quit working I spoke to Thor and the emergency technicians just said I would have to take it somewhere to be repaired was no assistance at all. I called back on Monday and was able to get a tech that told me where and how to see the motor. I found the wiring channel was not attached to the wall so this caused the wiring on the motor to break loose (very small wires) so you would be wise to check these to avoid the same problem. This coach was bought a little over two years ago with 14,000 + miles and now has 26,000 miles and I came on the website tonight to see if anyone else's captain chairs seat covers were flaking off. I thought I had problems with my coach but after seeing the problems are having I feel better about my RV. I don't believe Thor cares about repeat customers.

That impression has been voiced many many times ....On All brands that Thor has acquired... some more than others...just depends on how much time has passed since Thor acquired them and allowed Thor's bean counters to rule the roost.
(as a pertinent disclosure.... We no longer own a Thor product)

Welcome to our little place in the Sun!

Do you like puzzles? It sort of helps to think of your rig as just ONE giant 14,768 piece puzzle...

Good luck with getting (and keeping!) things together!

Welcome to the forum!

About the seat covers flaking, while our previous coach sat on a consignment lot for several months they left the front curtain open, and both of the front seats delaminated. Their contract prevented me from getting anything from the consignment folks and it was pricey to have both captains chairs recovered.

If I ever have the front covers ruined again, I will look harder at replacing the entire seat instead of reupholstering.

If you compare RV quality to today's automobile standard, you will be very upset. Quality suffers to maintain certain price points, and the RV companies think most of us won't pay more for better quality control.

with all the side pieces and 3 random pieces missing.

this site has helped me feel better too. I thought I bought a lemon and was going to return it and demand my money back.

My driver's side chair also failed after 3 years. I bought seat covers online which look OK and function well. I thought this was premature to fail so early but not a huge issue.

Welcome to the forum! It's a great place to get help and support. If you're out of warranty Thor isn't really going to help when stuff breaks. Our first motor home was a Winnebago. We bought it from the original owner who said that at any given time something will be broken on it. That was 20 years ago. It's just the nature of the beast. It's helpful to understand that, and to find a good RV repair shop near you.

As for the peeling upholstery, that's the fault of the furniture manufacturer. Many other brands and models have the same issue. I have seen it before. It looks terrible and is expensive to repair. Unfortunately I don't have any suggestions for you on that point.
